Halo Reach Gametype details

Headhunter- This is Bungie’s new “party play” game. The game play seems fun, even know it’s a really simple setup. You walk around in a FFA game where you find and kill other players to collect skulls. When you die, you drop all the skulls you were carrying to be picked up by the killer. If you are carrying 10 or more skulls at one time, you have a notice over your head, so no winning in one capture. You won’t score the points until you have dropped them in a scoring zone, which always moves. (There can also be a team version of this)

Stockpile- This game is a mix of CTF and Territories in which there are 4 neutral flags on the map, and you will have to grab them, and carry them back to your team’s score zone. Even if an enemy is holding a flag in your score zone, your team gets the point. Every 30 seconds, every held flag in the team’s score zone will be added as a point. This could mean some awesome last second rushes in order to make that 30 seconds before the other team comes in to stop your scoring point. (The flags are in the same spot, so learn the tricks to get there fast!)

Generator Defense(Called “Network Test 1” by Bungie) This 3v3 objective game may seem small, but when there are only three main points of interest, things get hectic. The defending team is composed of 3 Spartans, while the offense is 3 elites, you change sides after a round of 5 minutes where the offense tries to destroy 3 generator using whatever they can. Elites are more powerful then Spartans, but are easier to hit. At the beginning of every match, a longsword will drop of 3 power weapons in weapon drop pods. This means not only are the generators a concern, but rockets are at stake. Lastly each generator can lock down, making them invincible for 30 seconds, but requires a cool down time, creating tense incounters when you lock it too early, making the enemy rush when it’s done.

INVASION- Bungie has still kept quiet on invasion and the map bone yard that will be played on during the beta. But new info will be given about it Friday night on Game Trailers. Can’t wait.
